Engineering is foundation partner of the Italian Open Source Competence Center.

Mainly driven by important Italian Academic players and founded on the technical and scientific results produced by the QualiPSo project, the Italian Competence Center is a no-profit no-loss consortium, operating on a national scale and addressed to meet the needs of basic software and applications for schools, universities, small municipalities, hospitals, small and medium enterprises in the adoption of Open Source software.

The final goal is to foster the development and adoption of Open Source software. To this end, the Competence Center provides users with specific support, offering software solutions and high-quality services to manage their daily activities, at lower licensing costs. Anyone can take advantage of the competence, support and training services provided by the Competence Center, in order to understand, customize and adapt the Open Source paradigm to their needs, as a valid alternative to the currently adopted proprietary solutions.

The offering is based on Training and Education, Consultancy, Quality and Labeling services.

It also offers its in-depth knowledge on software quality, which is also the result of the corporate qualifications ISO 9001:2008 and CMMI Level 3. Engineering is technically responsible for the labelling infrastructure of the Competence Center, based on Spago4Q platform, which integrates the different tools supporting the assessment of products, processes and services, in compliance with QualiPSo MOST and OMM models.
