Engineering and Ingres release a new open source analytical platform for the development of enterprise level applications

SpagoBI/Ingres Analytical Platform has been released, as a new bundle OSBI solution.

Rome and Redwood City CA (USA), December 10th 2009 – The collaboration between Engineering, leading provider of IT services, and Ingres Corporation, the leading open source database management company and pioneer of the New Economics of IT , has brought to a new bundle enterprise solution for Business Intelligence projects, which is entirely open source.

The bundle integrates SpagoBI 2.2, the first free/open source solution, able to meet the analytical requirements which are typical of modern decisional systems, and the latest version of Ingres Database, the leading open source database that helps organizations develop and manage business critical applications at an affordable cost.

The bundle offers to everyone the opportunity to quickly start their own projects, thanks to its single applicative ready-to-use environment and to the set of pre-defined analytical documents, which cover the typical use cases of business intelligence projects.

Its wide range of analytical engines, the organic and harmonious vision of the BI platform as well as the robustness and excellence of Ingres databases make this solutions particularly suitable to complex BI projects.

The bundle is released as a totally open source version, downloadable from the OW2 Consortium forge: Users can also subscribe to a fee-paying service which adds a guaranteed support service, supplied by Engineering’s SpagoBI project team and Ingres.
