INSPIRE (Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe) is the European Commission directive that defines the rules for the implementation of IT infrastructures to manage spatial information in Europe in support of Community environmental policies and policies or activities which may have an impact on the environment.
In particular, the Italian INSPIRE Interest Group was created on JRC INSPIRE portal to encourage the discussion about the implementation of the INSPIRE directive at the national level. The group is free and open to all actors, public or private, interested in the implementation of the national infrastructure of spatial data.
This is certainly a good opportunity to share, discuss and collaborate also for the GeoBI Community that is focused not only on open source software but also on the adoption of open standards in the area of Location Intelligence, as clearly indicated in the initiative Charter?.
