The article, entitled "SpagoWorld, the Open Source Initiative by Engineering. Lessons learned by a company in the development of free software at enterprise level" provides a case history based on Engineering's experience in the development and management of free open source software projects. In particular, it is intended to think over reasons, strategy, relations with the communities and results, to be used as lessons learned as a base for further developments and initiatives.The English version of this article was published in UPGRADE-CEPIS by Novatica, The European Journal for the Informatics Professional (Vol. X, issue N. 3, June 2009).
