SpagoBI 3.0 Preview with the new Cloud, Mobile and on-demand BI services at Solutions Linux in Paris

Engineering Group presents its latest news on Open Source Business Intelligence in Paris.

Rome, 4^th May 2011 – During the 12^th edition of Solutions Linux, one of the most relevant international open source events, taking place in Paris from 10^th to 12^th May, Engineering Group presents the preview of the new 3.0 version of SpagoBI suite, the latest news on the related support services and the main innovations of the other projects belonging to the SpagoWorld initiative, focusing on interoperability, the management of middleware services, the development of SOA/BPM applications and the quality of products, processes and services. Engineering Group’s booth is located within the Village of OW2 Consortium, a global open source community of which Engineering Group is founding member.

The 3.0 version of SpagoBI suite will be launched for the first time in Paris at the end of June. In the meantime, the exhibition will provide a preview on the new unified and pervasive metadata management, based on the complete data sources abstraction for the development of Business Intelligence projects, according to the agile BI methodology. The first full open source release of the ad-hoc reporting and mobile BI features will be presented as well. Moreover, SpagoBI 3.0 release will include some new functionalities and analytical engines, such as the in-memory analysis, the extensions of the already available components supporting real-time business intelligence and the location intelligence for the geo-referenced data analysis.

At Engineering Group’s booth, SpagoBI team will provide visitors with all information on the solution, which is already the only entirely Open Source Business intelligence suite offering a wide range of analytical solutions – more than 20 engines covering the different analytical areas of the Information Intelligence – and new support services including:

• Cloud BI, available within the Cloe offering of Engineering Group’s Managed Operations Division;
• On-demand BI, allowing users to develop projects in a quick and secure way, cutting down the initial setup and configuration effort, thus reducing their learning curve;
• The new user support services and on-line training courses, which can be directly purchased at particularly affordable prices on SpagoShop, the on-line shop of the SpagoWorld initiative.

The latest news on the other open source projects supported by Engineering Group will be available at Solutions Linux as well:

• Spagic, the free/open source platform for the governance of middleware services and the development of SOA applications, will present the new Content Management services and the Mashup & Gadget Server, as well as the new components supporting Spagic deployment on mobile devices;
• Spago4Q, the free/open source platform to measure, analyze and monitor the quality of products, processes and services, will present its new connectors for ICT services management tools, the new dashboards supporting the quality monitoring of the source code and the support to Oracle DBMS.
