Ingres Corporation joins GeoBI Initiative

At the opening of fOSSa 2010, the Free Open Source Software for Academia Conference, Ingres Corporation joins GeoBI initiative.
Ingres recently announced availability of a community version of Ingres 10.1.0 using the GPL license – version 2. This software includes standards-compliant geospatial support built into Ingres core. This includes support for a number of geospatial data types and functions for geospatial analysis making Ingres compliant with the Open Geospatial Consortium Simple Feature Specification for SQL.
